At the annual meeting of Global Compact Network Finland on 5 May 2021, a new board was decided for the association, with Jussi Manninen, VTT’s Executive Vice President of “Carbon neutral solutions” business area, to be elected. Warm congratulations to Jussi!
VTT has joined the UN Global Compact initiative on corporate sustainability at the beginning of 2021. Companies and organisations committed to the initiative are developing their businesses towards increased responsibility as well as sustainable growth.
At VTT, sustainable development is at the core of everything we do, and we combine science and technology to solve global challenges and create sustainable growth. The sustainability and responsibility of research solutions and innovations are a fundamental principle, and the sustainability of VTT’s activities is under constant development.
Sustainability is also an important part of the VTT strategy for 2021–2025. At the beginning of 2021, VTT defined the precise goals and indicators for its sustainability programme. These sustainability priorities will serve as incentives towards VTT’s sustainable impact and help pursue our goal of being carbon neutral by 2030.
The UN Global Compact is the world's largest corporate responsibility initiative. It has been joined globally by nearly 15,000 companies and organisations who commit themselves to acting on the 10 principles of the initiative in relation to human rights, standards of labour, the environment and the eradication of corruption.
