Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, visited Finland on Monday, 4th October. The agenda of the visit was related to Finland’s recovery plan. During the visit, the Commission announced its positive assessment of Finland's plan.
Prime Minister Sanna Marin and President Ursula von der Leyen visited VTT’s quantum laboratory in Otaniemi. At VTT, the visit was hosted by Antti Vasara, Himadri Majumdar and Joonas Govenius.
“Thank you for the fascinating visit to VTT - I have learned a lot. We need to strengthen Europe’s technological leadership, and that is Next Generation EU package for”, said Ursula von der Leyen in the press conference organized at VTT. The Next Generation EU (NGEU) fund is a EU’s economic recovery package to support member states adversely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
