New member to VTT’s executive leadership team: Vesa Leino starts as the new CFO

News, Company news

As the new CFO and member of VTT’s executive leadership team, Vesa Leino will take up his duties on 1 November 2024. He joins VTT from Lamor, where he served as interim CFO. Leino reports directly to President and CEO Antti Vasara.

“In the coming years, Finland will be making major investments in research, development and innovation in an effort to generate sustainable growth. VTT plays an important role in fostering the impact of RDI activities, which also challenges us to continuously develop our activities. Tanja Huoponen did an absolutely exceptional job of reforming our operating methods after the incorporation of VTT. I would like to extend my warmest thanks for her invaluable contributions and wish her the very best success in the future. Vesa Leino brings VTT expertise in the management and development of technology company operations. I have no doubt that VTT will continue its outstanding reforms with Vesa joining the team," says VTT CEO Antti Vasara.

Leino has a long career in financial and R&D management as well as change management. Leino, who joins VTT from Lamor and Greenstep, has previously worked for several growth and technology companies. Leino served as a partner in Greenstep and as interim CFO in Greenstep customer companies, CFO and CEO of the Enedo Group, and in various positions at Microsoft and Nokia.

"I’m super excited about the opportunity to work together with the entire VTT organisation. I have always been particularly interested in technology and how it can improve the productivity of companies and society as well as generate growth. VTT is at the core of all this. I think my previous experience as CFO with technology and growth companies provides me with the right tools for my new position,” says Leino.

Tanja Huoponen, the previous CFO at VTT and member of the executive leadership team, has moved on from VTT.
