What kind of work can people do at VTT?
The majority of our employees are involved in research. In addition to researchers, we employ a large pool of experienced marketing, sales, communication, human resources, IT, business and financial administration professionals.
Do I have to know Finnish to be able to work at VTT?
Knowing Finnish is not compulsory for all our jobs. Most teams use English as their working language. At the moment, there are over 55 nationalities represented among VTT employees.
Does VTT have a minimum qualification requirement?
No. For some appointments, work experience and competence weigh more than a formal qualification. We hire people from diverse backgrounds. The vacancy announcement will state the level of qualification recommended for being able to do the job successfully.
What appendices do I need for the application?
Append a covering letter and CV to your application for a vacancy. Degree certificates, employment certificates and work samples will help process your application. Please append your study register extract when applying for a traineeship.
In some vacancy announcements, applicants are asked to state a salary request. If so, include your salary request. It is worth including your salary request anyway, because it will help in processing your application.
How long will it take to process the application?
We aim to process all applications within two weeks of the application deadline and notify all applicants of what happens next. We also always aim to notify applicants of any delays.
Do you accept open applications?
You may submit an open application through our online system. Append a covering letter and your CV. We aim to forward all applications to the relevant managers. However, we do recommend that you apply for a specific vacancy.
I cannot find an answer to my question. Where else can I ask?
A vacancy announcement will always have the details of a supervisor who can provide further information.
