Join us for a stakeholder seminar to explore solutions for integrating social sustainability into smart cities and buildings. Discover how these innovations can drive business growth, meet regulatory requirements, and enhance quality of life—all while making sustainability a competitive advantage for Finnish companies.

You are invited to a stakeholder seminar focused on the outcomes of the Sustainable Futures co-research project, conducted by VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and the University of Turku (Finland Futures Research Centre). The project, supported by companies, cities, and the KONE Veturi programme, develops a data-driven model to assess the value of social sustainability in urban living and the built environment. More information about the project

Key objectives include exploring new sustainable business opportunities, identifying critical social sustainability impacts in urban areas, and creating a practical model for data-driven sustainability assessments. The seminar will present findings on how integrating social sustainability into smart cities and buildings can foster innovation and long-term business growth, while meeting regulatory demands and improving quality of life.

Participants will gain insights into the framework designed to help stakeholders evaluate social sustainability during planning, construction, usage, and demolition phases of urban sites. The project aims to make sustainability a competitive advantage for Finnish businesses.

Our vision beyond 2030

A safe society is a wonderful thing. It should be treasured and strengthened so that known and unknown threats both in the real and virtual worlds do not jeopardise it.
