WEBINAR: VTT’s 50-qubit quantum computer is up and running – We will present first use cases

Finland

-

Building superconducting quantum computers with European resources is now possible, and the recently launched 50-qubit superconducting quantum computer built in Finland is a proof of that. Why is quantum technology so significant right now from a European perspective? Can quantum technology address challenges in material or drug development, for example? How has the VTT Q50 been used since December 2024? Join us to learn about quantum computing!

The first 50-qubit superconductíng quantum computer developed in Europe was created as a joint development project, where both parties, VTT and IQM, developed part of the technology.

In this webinar, Erja Turunen, EVP from VTT, will  discuss the benefits European expertise in quantum computing offers.

So far, we have run over 2 million QPU seconds of algorithms on it, including the following three use cases. Now, we can present how the VTT Q50 has been used since December 2024.

The event will be recorded.

Use cases:

•    Molecule simulations: VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, Senior Scientist Jukka Aho
•    Fluid dynamics: Quanscient, Quantum Scientist Oskari Kerppo
•    Drug delivery: Algorithmiq, CTO Matteo Rossi
