On 11 April 2024, the annual general meeting of VTT appointed Kai Seikku as a new member of VTT Board.
Kai Seikku has acted as the CEO of Okmetic Oy since 2010 and in the Board and as a Member of the Board of Okmetic since 2016, and as the Executive Vice President of National Silicon Industry Group since 2016.
Pekka Tiitinen, Managing Director at ABB Finland, will continue as the Chair of the Board of VTT and Sonja Hämäläinen, Migration Director at Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, as the Vice-Chair of the Board of VTT.
Besides Tiitinen and Hämäläinen, continuing as VTT Board members are Vice Precident, Remewable Hydgrogen Outi Ervasti (Neste Oyj), Rector Jukka Kola (University of Turku), Managing Director Erno Muuranto (GE Healthcare Finland) and Board Professional Kaarina Muurinen.

The annual general meeting of VTT appoints the Board of VTT. The tasks of the Board include confirming the company's strategy, overseeing the implementation of the strategy and being responsible for the profitability and proper organisation of operations at VTT. VTT is a Finnish, wholly state-owned limited liability company operating under the ownership steering of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment. VTT's task as an independent and impartial research organisation is to promote the wide-ranging utilisation and commercialisation of research and technology in industry, commerce, and society.
